Recess and Lunch

Recess is from 11.00am to 11.30am and lunch is from 1.15pm to 1.55pm. Lunch and recess include 10 minutes of eating time, supervised by the class teacher. It is an opportunity for the children to have a short break and take part in some physical activity.

During the first week the children will be reintroduced to their ‘Buddy' whom they were first introduced to during Kindergarten Orientation. These buddies will join them at recess and lunch, and be available during playtime.

Your child should bring recess and lunch packed separately. Show your child what you have packed and discuss which item is for each break. They may need more than one drink throughout the day. Make sure your child can open their lunch box, drink bottle and food wrappers.

Don't be concerned if your child does not finish their lunch, as he/she may be very excited or nervous. Teachers will encourage students to eat their lunch and to take any leftovers home.

Lunch Orders - Children are able to order lunch on Monday and Friday. A menu and price list will be forwarded to all families at the start of the school year.
