Last week 15 Ebenezer students took part in storytelling and writing workshops during a day of celebration for the Centenary of the 'School Magazine' at the Royal Botanical Gardens in the city. The School Magazine is Australia's most loved and longest-running literary magazine for children. For generations, it has been introducing young readers to a world of words. I remember with fondness reading the articles, plays, poems and serial stories back in the late 70's and 80's at primary school. Ebenezer purchases copies to help our Focus on Reading literacy approach in the classroom. The magazine allows our students access to quality literature engagingly presented. The students had a ball despite the cold, damp weather. I must say it is an absolute pleasure taking Ebenezer students out of the school for excursions like this, our students are always brilliantly behaved, inquisitive and full of joy.
