Stage 1 Geography Excursion 2019

Ebenezer Stage 1 students had the opportunity this week to immerse themselves in Ebenezer Pioneer geography and history. 1V and 1/2K students walked 1.5 km to Ebenezer Church, noting the street numbers as we went. The Church is the site of the first Ebenezer School in 1810. Mr Ted Brill, who was the Ebenezer Public School principal from 1972 -2000 welcomed us at the front and we were treated to a historic tour through the church and grounds. He sat us all down and told us all about the history of the church from the time families arrived on the Coromandel to present day. Mrs Keys had organised some pioneer games (elastics and 'queenie') for after lunch so the day ended with some great fun. We trudged, like Ebenezer students of old, back to school after a thoroughly enjoyable and fascinating day. Thank you Mrs Keys and Mrs Vallis for organising the day and all of the parents for helping out with refreshments and support on the walk.
